The Hard Truth

Writer's picture: juliannfalconerjuliannfalconer

Let's keep things short and simple.

  1. Acting like you don't have any feelings does not actually protect you from them.

  2. Red flags may not always come from others.

  3. It's okay to need and depend on others.

  4. You may not “have it all”, you won't always “be ready” or “have it together”

  5. What you want and need changes, and it's nobody else's responsibility to know that.

  6. Some things won't be able to be resolved.

  7. When it's the right fit, you won't have to force it. Learn to accept that not everything you want is meant for you.

  8. Heal before having children so your children don't have to heal from having you as a parent.

  9. Depression isn't a phase. Anxiety isn't an overreaction. Bpd isn't attention seeking. Bipolar isn't just mood swings. Ptsd isn't just for soldiers. Ocd isn't just being a neat freak. Eating disorders are not a lifestyle. Mental illness is real.

  10. Alcohol does not help you socialize. It helps you tolerate people and activities you don't really like.

  11. You got played because you fell in love with words over actions.

  12. If it does not bring you love, peace, and positive energy, stop engaging with it. Simple as that.

  13. You're not special. Even if you were one in a million there would still be 7000 people just like you.

  14. People don't get what they deserve because life is unfair.

  15. Some things are your fault. This is the first step into realizing you can control at least some things in your life and make it better.

  16. People do typically want you to do well, just not better than them.

  17. Experience often leads to a fixed mindset that you know everything when you don't.

  18. Instead of wishing, start doing, you can't build a happy life on a foundation of regrets.

  19. Trying to meet society's idea of success is a loser's game.

  20. Truly nobody cares what you do, what you eat, what you look like, how you dress, what car you have, what your hair looks like, what school you go to, where you work, where you live, ect. Nobody really cares that much, so just do what you want to do if it brings you joy.

he things that everyone needs to hear every once in a while, but don't want to.
